INTERESTS:
Gayle and I have several, special interests. This is a list of just some of our interests, hobbies or projects.
* Fly Fishing - We really enjoy fly fishing! (...and more recently, Fly Tying!) We both try to get out to a trout stream whenever possible. We also give fly fishing a try when we're in St. Maarten/St. Martin. Pictured on the right, my first attempt at Fly Tying (be kind now... it's harder than it looks).
* Photography - I get a lot of enjoyment out of photography -- all forms of photography! My latest "Time Machine" (it captures a moment in time) is a Canon Rebel XSi. (Photo of
a New Jersey Humming Bird -- coming in for a "HOT" landing!)
* Travel - We are both travel buffs. Gayle and I love traveling. To the right is a photo of the desert, taken in the "Valley of Fire" (north of Las Vegas. Nevada).
* And More Travel - This cannon just happens to be located in "Ft. Amsterdam", Sint
Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.
(We try to go back there every year.)
* Wine - We are also avid wine buffs. Gayle and I enjoy wine -- and all the things associated with wine. Shown on the right is a glass of red wine.
(Can you guess which varietal I prefer?)
* Barbecue (BBQ) - We enjoy "Low-n-Slow" ("Southern syle") Barbecuing! Pictured here is our second smoker. We both enjoy this cooking process -- as well as eating the finished product! (A 7 lb. pork shoulder can take 12 or13 hours to cook!) Now, grilling is good -- but BBQ is GREAT!
* Geocaching - Our alias is "Lewis-Clarkette". We're really just getting involved in this sport. The object is for a person (or a team), using given GPS coordinates, obtained on the Internet, to find the associated "geocache". There are many geocaches around the world ...there are even a few on St. Martin!
* Shooting Sports - (Trap and paper targets). As Certified NRA Instructors, Gayle and I both enjoy the social aspects of the shooting sports very much.
* Flying - I have always enjoyed flying -- and everything about it! When I was a teenager, I flew out of a
small airport (GBR) near Great Barrington, Mass. This is a rather poor picture of a PA-22 Piper Tri-pacer, the type of plane in which I logged a few hours -- lo, those many years ago.
* Belly Dancing - Gayle (and ONLY Gayle!) is interested in Belly Dancing.
I would like to remind you that, "Not ALL Who Wander Are Lost!"
